Pre Season Workouts

Hello Everyone,
Im very excited about the 2012 season. I ready to work with my returning runners and also ready to train new runners. Those of you that know me know my expectations and understand the workouts that lay ahead. Those that have not work with me, speak with my veteran runners and they will feel you in. We have a lot to work on this year and it starts now. Below are some pre season objectives for this season's 400, 800, and 400H runners.

1. Healthy Eating Habbits
2. Off Season Workouts
3. Film Studies
4. And Research

We will be working on our diets, we will be in shape BEFORE the season starts, we will be looking at some of our past races and seeing how we can improve, and we will be looking at some of the great runners who ran the 400, 800, 400H the best. We will study film and apply it to our selves. This season we will lower our times and be state contenders. PLEASE BE READY!

Im excited guys to get to work. I've made folders for each of you if you have not gotten your folder please let me know and I will make sure your get yours.

Physicals

Sports Physicals are Tuesday at 5:30 PM May 16, 2011 at Mackey Family Practice. As
we do every year, we will line up the kids outside on the side walk and
only allow 5 at a time in the waiting room. I need coaches from every
sport to help supervise. Please be at Mackey by 5:00 PM. Physical
forms are on each team page on the ILHS web site. Remind all students
that these forms must be signed by a parent before they get a physical.

State Meet Information

We will be leaving the school at 10:30am. The meet will be held at Spring Valley High School. The 4x800m will start at 9:30. The last event for our boys (triple jump) will start at 6:30. It is encourage that you bring sun block, umbrella, cash ($5 entry plus concessions), and a cheering spirit.

Meet rules:
1. CONTESTANTS MUST COME DRESSED READY TO COMPETE.
2. NO RADIOS OR TAPE DECKS WILL BE PERMITTED at the Track Meet. No
electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, IPods, MP3 players, etc.) will be
allowed by contestants in the competition area; will follow the jewelry rule
4-3-3 PEN.
3. ADMISSION FOR ALL SPECTATORS WILL BE $5.00 (Friday) and $8.00 (Saturday)
(5 and under are admitted free). Coaches, administrators, etc. with High
School League passes must enter at the spectators' entrance gate. League
passes will allow the bearer (or spouse) and one (1) guest to enter without
charge (NO EXCEPTIONS).
4. Only athletes that qualify for the State Finals will be admitted to the
State Meet without charge. You must have a contestant entry wristband to
enter (NO EXCEPTIONS).
5. Coaching in the restricted area after a contestant has reported will
disqualify the contestant.
6. SHOT AND DISCUS - All contestants are to bring their own implements for
practice throws. The event judge will provide/chose the implements for
competition.

7. FULL UNIFORMS REQUIRED - Contestants must be ready to compete at the
scheduled time of their event. Contestants will not be allowed to compete
unless they are dressed in the proper track uniform. Relay teams must wear
identical uniforms. Contestants must wear shirts at all times.
8. NO SPIKES THAT EXCEED ?" MAY BE USED.
9. NO JEWELRY!!!
10. Soft single color elastic hair controlling items, excluding hats, may be
worn. Must be non-abrasive. This includes headbands without logos.
11. Only prescription eyewear will be allowed by contestants during the
competition.
12. MEDALS AND TROPHIES - Medals will be awarded to the first three places
and ribbons will be awarded to the next five places in each event. All
contestants will be escorted to the awards area immediately after the event.
These medals and ribbons will be presented shortly after the conclusion of
the event. Trophies will be presented to all team champions and runners-up
following the track meet.

Athlete entrance is located in the back of the school at the entrance gate to Harry
Parone Stadium. Team buses will enter from Sparkleberry Lane at the traffic
light next to the tennis courts. Security officers will assist with bus parking in the
back of the school. Athletes not riding a team bus have two options for entry:

1. Athletes can be dropped off at the tennis courts to walk around to the back
of the school to the athlete entry gate.
2. Athletes who drive will have to park in one of the three main parking lots in
front of the school and make a long walk around to the back of the school
to the athlete entry gate.

Note: No athlete will be allowed to enter without a contestant entry
wristband. Spectators will park in the three main lots at the front of the school.
The spectator entrance will be at the North Main Gate (Big Archways), which
serves as the home gate for football games. Additional Note: No athlete will
be allowed to enter through the spectator entry gate.
